CCW : Counter Clock Wise by Umyot Boonmarlart
Rationale
CCW – Counter Clock Wise is an experimental interface design project that tries to revolute the way we read a clock by symbolizing time into graphic as a visual language. In order to answer the post-modern digital era, the designer prepares the design to be ready for utilizing in many kinds of product such as a hand watch or decorative clock.
Design Descriptions
How to read
Isn't it cool to have a personal clock that you are the only one who can read it?
CCW has a new but simple way to read it. Everything goes from left to right, and the symbols build on top of each other to imply the increment of time.
Hour
The biggest element that has twelve squares builds on top of each other in groups of two.
Minute
Minute symbols are smaller than the hours. They are twelve rows of five squares. Each two rows are arranged to be close to each other to make them easier to read as a group of ten.
Second
Second symbols are the smallest and they are circles. There are sixty translucent small circles lay vertically. Every second one of the circles lights up after another until they climb to the top, when there is one minute. The rationale behind the second symbols is we don’t usually read the exact second but having the full amount of seconds before they light up gives the users an idea of how long will the time goes to the next minute.
Colors
Every hour has its color scheme. Each color set represents hue of the time during the day.
